A very large Songye horned power figure from the Congo. Approximately 92cm tall overall, mounted in a base 19.5cm square. This is a magnificent old example - carved from a heavy dense hardwood, the eyes are inlaid cowrie shells and it is embellished with distressed animal skin, beads and metalwork.
